Just added paintings completed the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009. Newly inspired by painting on black canvases I have 2 new paintings of dragons and moons, some new rainforest paintings (with dragons this time..) and also a new painting of Epping Forest.. plus dragon… There is also a new digital print up that was used in April’s edition of Interzone, illustrating a story by Alaya Johnson called Far and Deep. Its in Issue 221 and is a lovely story. Last year I exhibited at Denvention World Science Fiction Convention, where I sold 2 paintings and numerous prints, Novacon Science Fiction Convention, prints and cards and Eastercon in Bradford.

There is a new flash animation on the front page which was creataed for Joseph Swope whose new book will be published Summer/Autumn 2009.

Alltogether I have had a busy year with new paintings, new animations, a picture published in Interzone and opening new stores with Zazzle, Spreadshirt and Redbubble. I also added to my products at Cafepress and even made a couple of Squidoo lenses! Next projects are making new digital and canvas paintings for the up coming Worldcon and making a new interface page for all the stores along with real pictures of the actual products you can buy from them.

I also got level 77 in Everquest 2 at the weekend and hope to get 80 this weekend….

Have just posted some new Christmas cards up on cafepress, which you can reach by the store link on my new page, and also joined Zazzle. Where I am currently working on posting new products. Have had a very good year this year which has so far included attending and selling prints at 3 Sf cons, whereas I usually only attend one. It has been a very busy year and I will write a proper update on the year at years end

am still fine tuning it a little. This time I will be able to add new images far more easily than before as I will just add them to the gallery and not have to muck about redesigning the page every time I add a new picture!!! So hopefully it wont be another four years before I add the latest pictures!

I hope soon to be adding more artwork to the painting pages of this site and completely changing the look of the gallery. I have spent a lot of time recently actually painting and this will be reflected in the Art Gallery section of the site which hasn’t actually changed since 2004….

Just drew this new dragon. I am currently trying it out myself on a tshirt from cafepress and if it works ok on the black tshirts I will be putting it up for sale eventually. I am also trying hard to finish a painting for Eastercon (the uks main annual science fiction convention) and hope to do a new print or two too… but hey I am always behind with everything I plan so no doubt I will only do half what I mean too…

After Easter I will definitely be getting back to doing some new animations again and adding to the website.

Finally got round to recoding the front page, NO MORE FRAMES!!! Hurray … however this meant I also had to do some rapid changing to various other pages that used to open in the main frame of that page… Did some minor changes to various pages and then reached the send an E Card page and realised it would have to be rewritten from the ground up and was a totally hopeless case of a badly coded page. I also thought I ought to look around and see what other more recent options there are for code for sending ecards. So have decided to put that on the back burner for a bit longer.. Same for the links page, I have many many links I wish to add to it but no time to do this right now.

Currently I am involved in painting, when not looking after sick kids.. hopefully will have something finished before Eastercon…

If anyone knows any newer ecard sending systems.. or would write one for me drop me a line and I will of course credit you. Also any flash game programmers out there want to do something cooperative? Just let me know.

Finally managed to finish the layout for the new Animation Index page. The bottom links to the animations still don’t resize as nicely as I would like.. but I’ll tweak them around a bit when I get time… CSS can be a total pain when you are trying to make a mainly graphical layout and I’m afraid that all my designs are based on trial and error.. click and look till I get it right. I really have no proper concept of how exactly floats and non floated elements.. relative versus absolute work but have found when in doubt, put in an extra wrapper! (css wrapper..) Which probably means I have tons of code there I don’t really need…

The links to the new flying dragon pages are also up but.. I still haven’t gotten round to adding smoke to all the dragons .. and nor have I made the red dragon for the second page but.. I did just have 21 people for a pre Christmas dinner.. well thats my excuse anyway!

Now to concentrate on revamping the rest of the site and getting rid (somehow!) of the dreadful frames on the first page!!!

Well I’ve finally got the blog working .. to a certain extent though I’m still trying to work out which bit of the code controls the colours of the grey horizontal bars…
